Sensei Sherry Visit

North Port Shotokan Karate Club received a visit from top international instructor Andy Sherry of the Karate Union of Great Britain. Sensei Sherry flew in from Liverpool England just to visit North Port's longest running Karate Club. The Club, which has been in North Port for 12 years train at the Boys & Girls Club. They are the only club in the whole of the USA who is affiliated to the KUGB.

The Club had a Memorial Day weekend seminar with Sensei Sherry and a grading (testing). Special guests were Mark Pinner and some of his students and Sam Jaquita.  Everyone in the club was nervous, including Chief Instructor Paul Moon who was himself grading. After 3 days of solid training, the Club is happy to report a 100% pass rate for the entire club.

North Port Shotokan students are all now proudly wearing their new colored belts signed by Sensei Sherry himself.  We would like to congratulate Caroline Vale on her Shodan (Black Belt) grading.
