Nationals 2007

Winston-Salem, NC
6/25/07 - 6/30/07

The culmination of hard work and determination finally paid off for some of the students of the North Port Shotokan Karate club.

The Club had endless fund raisers and extra training to qualify for the 2007 AAU National Championships held in Winsten-Salem N.C. After 29 students qualified at the Regionals in Lakeland bringing home 32 medals, the race was on to raise the money to go. The club did hour long spar-a-thons, car washes and stood out side stores for hours on end but it was all worth it in the end.

The Club along with Sensei Paul Moon came home last week with an impressive 44 medals. 16 gold, 12 silver and 16 bronze. The Moon's again received a trophy for being one of the top 20 clubs in the USA.

The tournament was held over a week as there were over 2000 competitors from ages 5 to over 55. The top 4 Novice and above qualify for the AAU Junior Olympic Games in Knoxville TN.  8 of our students qualified.
