West Coast Districts
Tarpon Springs, FL.
04/21/07 Sensei Paul Moon took his students to
Tarpon Springs on April 21st. to compete in the West Coast
District Championships. The 30 strong team were triumphant in
bringing home 46 medals!! 12 of them gold, 16 silver and 18
bronze.
For four of the competitors it was their first ever tournament.
13 year old Cynthia Nixon and Krista Dotas have only been
training for 2 months and both girls earned a gold and a
silver medal each. 10 year old Sarah West was also able to
secure herself a gold and silver medal and Garielle Greer 9,
brought home her first medals, both of which were bronze, having
been beaten by team mate Sarah in the semi final.
The Club had to work hard for the Regionals scheduled for May
12th and for testing May 25th with top World class
instructor Andy Sherry who traveled from England just
to visit North Port.
Sensei Moon was confident they could step it up, "They are all
well disciplined individuals who see their goal and have the
confidence and commitment to work towards it. These are just a
few of the qualities that karate installs in them".
